France tests EyePulse MALE and accelerates its low-cost military drone plan (X @DGA)
France has advanced the modernization of its aerial surveillance capabilities with the EyePulse MALE, a demonstrator drone developed by Daher in partnership with Thales.
The model, based on the TBM aircraft, successfully completed an autonomous flight presented to the Directorate-General of Armaments (DGA), demonstrating automatic cruise, descent and landing. The project was delivered in record time, only six months after work began.
The demonstration is part of France’s strategy to accelerate the adoption of low-cost MALE drones to fill gaps in surveillance and light attack operations. Daher conducted six flights before the official presentation, reinforcing the DGA’s intention to evaluate ready-made and adaptable solutions for future military acquisitions. The final configuration may include extended wings, extra fuel tanks and greater range for long ISR missions.
With modular technology and fast integration of Thales’ SkyFlyt systems, the EyePulse MALE emerges as a versatile platform for electronic warfare scenarios and autonomous missions. Daher states it is ready to move toward serial production, positioning the drone as an alternative capable of meeting the needs of France and potential international customers.
